Alien Encounter is one of the most exciting and frightening attractions in Disney. When the ride was first presented to Disney CEO Michael Eisner, he sent the designers back to work because thought the ride wasn’t scary enough. They solved the problem extremely well. Alien Encounter is based on the Hollywood film series “Alien.” The 20-minute presentation depicts the futuristic corporation, XS-Tech, and makes passengers a part of a teleportation experiment gone horribly wrong …
A gruesome alien is accidentally transported into the room and eventually breaks free of its bonds. As the alien scampers around the chamber, you’ll want to jump out of your seat and run for the exits. The show is exciting and uses some terrific special effects to really give you a start (we wouldn’t give away any surprises). There are moments of complete darkness and speakers imbedded into the rear of the seats really add to the thrill. Small children will probably turn white and pass out, but older kids and teens will most likely deal with not much more than a heart-pounding scare.
